Port Forwarding / Port Triggering U Router.
Guild Wars requires unrestricted access to TCP port 6112.

or Google : Port Forwarding / Port Triggering games guildwars
ram boost U guildwars:
This is a windows trick that tells windows to devote ram just to a program
(in this case, guildwars). This can speed up loading of maps.
It was recommended you specify ½ of your ram.
C:\Guild Wars\Gw.exe -heapsize 512000
128MB -heapsize 64000
256MB -heapsize 128000
384MB -heapsize 192000
512MB -heapsize 256000
640MB -heapsize 320000
768MB -heapsize 384000
1024MB (1GB) -heapsize 512000
2048MB (2GB) -heapsize 1024000
good luck all..

The heapsize and port forwarding suggestions are both valid; however, Avast is giving me a worm/trojan detection on that download. Considering how those programs tend to work, it may be a false positive, but I thought I should let people know.

Booster is known spyware.
If you want to defrag game files, just use either defrag found in windows or get Contig - certified by ms - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb897428.aspx - and run it on your game files.
It is, however, not going to improve your loading times by much because loading maps from perfectly continuous gw.dat still causes lots of seeking.
Heap size is not going to do improve performace, but rather responsiveness, mostly it is just tradeoff: swapping caused by memory allocation memerly happens when you start gw rather than when you load map.

Was it? I seem to recall a rumor it was gone, but never bothered checking it out. TexMod > marginally increased RAM.

I was also under the impression that the argument for heapsize had been settled. But hey, I've been wrong

Look at CE Devilman's character name. All it says is "...", doesn't that seem in the LEAST bit suspicious?

I trust GameBooster. NOD32 never said anything about it to me.
